The 1073 microphone preamp/EQ is one of the most iconic pieces of recording gear ever created. The Class A discrete transistor mic preamp is a staple in studios and production facilities to this day. What made the original 1073 stand out was its powerful sound - thick and warm with a mid-forward presence and a smooth top end, it created a tone that sat beautifully in the mix. The Behringer 73 is an homage to this classic piece of studio gear in a compact 500 Series single-slot module. It preserves all that is great about the original units but is designed for a modern studio.
ICONIC 73 SOUND FOR YOUR 500 SERIES RACK
The 73 is a single-channel 500 Series module sharing the same architecture Behringer's stereo 1273 mic preamp/EQ. Use it as a perfect complement for your preferred equalizer and/or compressor. Its sturdy steel chassis keeps it safe and secure in your studio setup. The 73's Class A discrete circuit provides the most detailed signal integrity without excessive coloration. Custom-built Midas transformers are used on the input and output stages.
ADVANCED CONTROLS
The front panel should look familiar. The Gain switch is designed to handle a variety of inputs from microphones, line levels, and instruments providing up to 80 dB of gain. The large rotary stepped dial is perfect for consistently recalling your settings for all of your projects. Use the Trim dial for a finer level of control. Along with an XLR/1/4" input connector the 73 also includes Phase Invert, Hi/Lo Impedance, and Front/Rear Input Selection controls.
