The Vienna Symphonic Horn Ensemble Full consists of 4 players, similar to the instrumentation of the romantic orchestra. In some works of composers like, e.g., Richard Strauss and Anton Bruckner, the horn ensemble required up to eight musicians in order to – e.g., by doubling – achieve an especially fat and strong sound (for which purpose we recommend the purchase of our Epic Horns).
